Construction Begins September 2026

The Farmington Community Library is starting renovation projects at both FCL locations as part of the first phase of the Library's Facilities Masterplan. These improvements will update aging infrastructure, improve accessibility, and create new spaces for the community to gather, study, and play.

Construction is is tentatively scheduled to begin September 8, 2026. While timelines may change as work progresses, Phase One is currently anticipated to be completed in June 2027.

We know construction can be an inconvenience, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding while this work is underway. These improvements are an investment in the future of your Library, and we're excited to welcome the community into these updated spaces as each project is completed.

All Phase One projects are funded through the Library's operating budget.

What to Expect During Construction

Both buildings are expected to remain open throughout construction. However, renovation work may temporarily affect your visit. When construction begins, patrons may experience:

  • Increased construction noise
  • Reduced parking availability
  • Temporary closures of specific areas
  • Relocated collections and services
  • Occasional short-term building closures when necessary to safely complete construction
  • Temporary service interruptions during certain phases of the project

The Library will work closely with contractors to minimize disruptions whenever possible while safely completing the improvements. Construction schedules and service impacts may change as work progresses. Please check this page regularly for the latest updates before your visit.
