This is your chance to create a library card for the Farmington Community Library! Anyone with a current FCL card is eligible to submit an original design following the theme of "Books & Beyond". Your design may be selected as a limited edition FCL Library Card.
Contest Guidelines
Create a drawing or design following the theme “Books & Beyond” using the provided Contest Design Template. Designs should take inspiration from our theme of “Books & Beyond”. We don’t limit ourselves to just books, so you shouldn’t either! Your design should celebrate an aspect of the Library community, services, or an experience you have had at FCL.
A winner will be selected in each of the following age groups:
- Ages 5-12
- Ages 13-17
- Ages 18+
Submissions may be in any art medium (illustration, pen, photography, etc.). Designs submitted online must be high resolution, at least 300dpi, and the following design formats will be accepted: .jpeg, .png, .ai, .eps, .psd, and .pdf. Please print the template one sided on letter size paper (8.5 x 11).
Entry Requirements
- The artist (or artist's parent/guardian) must have a current FCL card (see eligibility and application details here)
- Multiple entries per person are allowed; you must submit a separate Entry Form for each entry
- Submissions must follow the dimensions included in the Contest Design Template
- Design content must be appropriate for all ages
Entry Instructions
Download the Contest Design Template below or pick up a copy at either FCL location. Review the template and dimension requirements. All designs must adhere to the dimensions of the Library card and keychain. The actual card dimensions are 3.375” x 2.125”; and the keychain measures 2.5“ x 0.875“.
You may recreate the template on your home computer, but you must keep the dimensions the same.
All Submissions are due by midnight on September 30, 2023. Physical entries can be submitted at the Information Desk at either FCL location. Digital entries can be uploaded using the online submission form below. Winning designs will be announced in November.
