Where Will Your Library Card Take You? Celebrate National Library Card Sign-Up Month at FCL!
September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month, and there’s no better time to explore where your Farmington Community Library (FCL) card can take you! Whether you’re signing up for the first time or finding new ways to use the card you already have, your library card is a passport to endless possibilities.
Library card benefits last all year long, but this September we’re adding some extra fun:
- Choose a new collector’s edition FCL sticker when you stop by either FCL location (while supplies last)
- Use your card to borrow physical or digital items from the Library catalog for a chance to win an FCL canvas tote bag or cinch pack from our swag store (8 random winners between Sept. 2-30)
What is a Library Card?
Your library card is your ticket to knowledge, creativity, and fun! You can borrow a wide variety of items from Library collections, including books, movies, music, games, educational kits, electronic devices, and more.
You can also access digital resources, including eBooks, eAudiobooks, movies, music, research databases, and online learning platforms, which can be streamed, downloaded, or used online with your FCL card number.

Don’t have a card yet? Now’s the perfect time to start your adventure! Anyone who lives, works, studies, or owns property in our service area is eligible.
Our service area is defined by the Farmington/Farmington Hills taxing district. This includes all addresses in Farmington and Farmington Hills, as well as some surrounding neighborhoods that may not fall within the boundaries of those two cities. Not sure if your address is part of the district? Check your property tax bill or contact us to confirm!
With our new online library card application, residents in our service area (ages 18 and older) can sign up from anywhere and receive a full-access card via to their email.
