Our 2023 Summer Reading Program took place June 3rd through July 30th. This annual program encourages community members of all ages to finish the reading goal, complete special missions, and meet their neighbors at Library events. Along the way, participants win completion prizes and collect points they can enter into raffle drawings for grand prizes.

Summer Reading helps kids and teens maintain learning while school is out, fosters their social-emotional development, and brings the community together for free family events. This summer, our community rocked it! We had 3,353 participants who signed up, 43,451 hours of reading logged, 933 finishers who completed the 10-hour reading goal, and close to 9,000 attendees at our free summer events. Combined, kids and teens logged 12,000 more hours than last year's program.

This year, kids and teens were able to choose a free new book as their sign-up and completion prizes. Thanks to the generous support of our 2023 sponsors, we gave away over 1,700 books to kids and teens in the community.
