2023-2029 Strategic Plan
To align resources with the emerging priorities of the community, Farmington Community Library underwent a comprehensive strategic planning process with feedback from the community and stakeholders.
This process launched in the Summer of 2022 and the final plan was approved by the FCL Board of Trustees in April of 2023. The process was informed by a community survey; focus groups held with key demographic groups and local organizations; and extensive surveys and learning sessions with FCL staff and Board members.
The seven-year strategic plan outlines three strategic directions for the Library: creating community, expanding connections, and cultivating curiosity.
The strategy speaks to the critical role the Library plays in the Farmington and Farmington Hills communities:
- We positively impact our community by providing a variety of library spaces, ensuring accessible services, and supporting collaboration and inclusion.
- We are a vital community resource. We aim to broaden partnerships, increase awareness, and foster new connections that emphasize the value of our work.
- Library staff and Board members are integral to our success. We will encourage an internal culture of growth that influences how we learn from and serve the community.
