1000 Books Before Kindergarten

This program encourages you to read 1000 books out loud to your child before Kindergarten to help them be better prepared for school! Along the way you’ll earn a Library book bag and free books to keep for your collection at home. Click here to learn more about this program and get started.

Early Literacy Calendar

iVOX - Books that Move!

iVOX is an interactive storybook app for kids ages 4-8 that brings stories to life with 3D characters and scenes! The story is read aloud as the words are highlighted at the bottom of the screen—a multi-modal approach that has been proven to aid in literacy development. You can check out up to 12 books at a time and once books are downloaded to the app, the can be accessed offline!

Early Literacy Support with Bookflix

BookFlix® is a digital literacy resource that pairs more than 120 animated stories from Weston Woods with a best-selling nonfiction eBook from Scholastic on a similar subject. The fiction and nonfiction pairings are designed to strengthen early literacy skills while exposing young learners to real world concepts. BookFlix is great for struggling or beginning readers – hook them in with video storybook, then share the read-along nonfiction book.

Children's eBooks with TumbleBooks

TumbleBooksLibrary is an online collection of over 250 animated, talking picture eBooks for kids! They are a great way to encourage kids to enjoy reading. It also features Spanish and French books, read-along chapter books, non-fiction books, and exciting games and puzzles.
