This Giving Tuesday, empower our youth by supporting literacy.
It may be cold outside, but at the Library we are already thinking ahead to summer!
Join the Farmington Friends of the Library this Giving Season as they raise funds for book giveaways during our annual Summer Reading Program. Summer Reading helps kids and teens maintain learning while school is out, fosters their social-emotional development, and brings the community together for free family events.
Our favorite part of Summer Reading is giving kids and teens a free book to keep for their own personal library at the beginning and the end of the program. Growing up surrounded by books in your home helps build vocabulary, increases comprehension, and boosts literacy.
This past summer, our community logged 43,451 hours of reading during the program, and we gave away over 1,700 books to kids and teens!
Your support will help us expand the program in 2024 and place free books in the hands of more young readers.
The suggested donation amount of $25 will provide 4 books to kids in the community. If you are not already a Friends member, $25 will also provide you with a one-year membership.
