Public Spaces

Public Spaces at the Library

The Library offers the following Public Spaces:

  • Free Internet and Wireless Access: The Library offers 150 public computers, some equipped with Web EyesJaws, and ZoomText software for the visually impaired, for Library card holders or guests. Users may also employ their own wireless laptops or plug laptops into our study tables to make use of internet access.
  • Meeting Rooms: The Farmington Community Library rents meeting space to community organizations, groups and businesses in the Farmington and Farmington Hills.
  • Study Rooms: Study rooms are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • For Children: Smart Start Center (Main Library) is designed for interactive reading readiness activities and tree house for toddlers (Farmington Branch). Puzzles, puppets and other activities are available.
  • Casual Reading: Leisurely reading areas near a cozy fireplace are available at each Branch.
  • Friends of the Library Used Book Sale: Visit the ongoing book sale and special sales throughout the year at each Branch.
