The Alliance of Nonprofit Mailers is a national coalition of nonprofit organizations sharing an invested interest in nonprofit postal rates, regulations or legislation.

The American Institute of Philanthropy (AIP) is a nationally prominent charity watchdog service whose purpose is to help donors make informed giving decisions. This web site provides information about AIP, the charities they rate, and their method of grading charities. The quarterly Charity Rating Guide included in the Charity Watchdog Report, informs donors about how approximately 400 national charities spend their donations and keeps donors up to date on current issues related to charitable giving.

The Aspen Institute offers grant-making programs and various publications including over 125 completed research reports produced by its grantees. Publications include: Nonprofit Research News, a newsletter reporting on the fund's activities and grants; Nonprofit Research Forum, a periodical that features researcher and practitioner conversations about new fund-sponsored research; Practitioner Viewpoint Series and a Nonprofit Sector Research Fund Dialogue Series

A site of the BBB Wise Giving Alliance formed by the merger of the National Charities Information Bureau and the Council of Better Business Bureaus' Foundation and its Philanthropic Advisory Service. The Alliance reports on nationally soliciting charitable organizations that are the subject of donor inquiries.

The U.S. Bureau of the Census offers help in proposal writing, business planning and commercial development

Capital Research was established in 1984 to study non-profit organizations, with a special focus on reviving American traditions of charity, philanthropy, and volunteerism. Capital Research publishes Foundation Watch, a monthly newsletter that examines the grantmaking of private foundations.

LNPS Online is a searchable database of the literature of philanthropy. It incorporates the unique contents of the Foundation Center's five libraries and contains more than 19,000 full bibliographic citations, of which more than 12,000 have descriptive abstracts. It is updated on a regular basis.

The Council has available over 100 books, monographs, videos and audiotapes. The publications are designed for grant makers and those interested in organized philanthropy. The Foundation Center is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to assist support and improve philanthropy by promoting public understanding of the field and helping grant seekers succeed. The Center collects, organizes, analyses and disseminates information on foundations, corporate giving and related subjects. At their web site, there are links to grantmaker web sites, information on the top U.S. funders, 990-PFs funding trend and analysis, an online library, Philanthropy News Digest and Foundation Finder —a search tool that provides basic facts on more than 48,000 US foundation.

Driven by a mission of providing an effective conduit for the donation of products, goods and services from the private sector to the charitable sector, Gifts In Kind International is the recognized leader in the field of product philanthropy.

A comprehensive list of online grants information and fund raising from Jon Harrison at Michigan State University Libraries.

GrantSmart provides a searchable database of 60,000 foundations based on information gathered from foundations' income tax returns. (Private foundations submit IRS Form 990 PFs, which are now available to the public.) The site is provided by Canyon Research, a private operating foundation. There is no fee for using the site.

GuideStar is a searchable database of over 850,000 nonprofit organizations with access to IRS Form 990s (IRS Form 990 is used by public charities). Offers variety of publications that follow the activities, finances and progress of the nonprofit sector. This site is provided by Philanthropic Research, Inc., a nonprofit organization, and is available free of charge
