- Most items can be renewed five times. When a patron returns an item, it must remain on the shelf for 24 hours before being checked out again by that patron or a family member.
- A renewal extends the due date for the same amount of days as the loan period. For example, a three week loan period would renew for three weeks.
- The renewal due date is calculated from the day the item is renewed. So, if your three week item is now due back in two weeks and you renewed it today, you would only receive one extra week. It is always better to renew an item close to its due date.

- Click the View Your Patron Account tab. Enter your 14-digit patron barcode with no spaces, the last 4-digits of your telephone number and press enter or click the Login to Your Account button.
- Click on Items Checked Out. If you wish to renew all your items, click the empty box on the highlighted Title line and click the Renew button. If you wish to renew only certain items, click the empty box in front of each title you wish to renew then click the Renew button.

- You can come into either Branch of the Library and renew in person.

- Use your touch-tone phone to call the Farmington Community Library 24 hours a day to renew your items.
- Call 248-553-8678 and enter your Library card number (with no spaces) and the last four digits of your phone number.
- To Exit at any time, press the * key
- To renew all or some of your items, press 1.
- Listen to the titles being renewed for due dates.
- Items on hold for another patron cannot be renewed.
- New books and DVDs can be renewed one time. All other items can be renewed five times.
- To list the items you have checked out, press 2
- To hear if you have holds available or to cancel holds, press 3
- To check if you owe any fees at the Library, press 4
- To hear total fees owing after renewing items, press the * key to Exit and redial the Automated Telephone Renewal System.
- To list your overdue items, press 5
- To record your name in your own voice for future phone system calls, press 6
- To listen to Library Hours and Closed Days, press 7.
- To repeat a statement, press the # key.
- To Exit when you are finished, press the * key.
