Capital Research

Capital Research was established in 1984 to study non-profit organizations, with a special focus on reviving American traditions of charity, philanthropy, and volunteerism. Capital Research publishes Foundation Watch, a monthly newsletter that examines the grantmaking of private foundations.

Catalog of Nonprofit Literature (LNPS)

LNPS Online is a searchable database of the literature of philanthropy. It incorporates the unique contents of the Foundation Center's five libraries and contains more than 19,000 full bibliographic citations, of which more than 12,000 have descriptive abstracts. It is updated on a regular basis.

Center on Philanthropy (Indiana University)

The Center offers a variety of publications with topics that include: corporate philanthropy, diversity, fund raising, general philanthropy, giving and volunteering, governance, grant making and philanthropy-economic aspects.

Charity Village

Canada's supersite for the nonprofit sector—3,000 pages of news, jobs, information and resources for executives, staffers, donors, and volunteers.

Council on Foundations

For over 50 years, the Council on Foundations has offered tailored programs and services for community, corporate and family foundations as well as giving and international programs. The Council has available over 100 books, monographs, videos and audiotapes. The publications are designed for grant makers and those interested in organized philanthropy. Includes a Community Foundation Locator to find the community foundation in your area.

Foundation Center

The Foundation Center is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to assist support and improve philanthropy by promoting public understanding of the field and helping grant seekers succeed. The Center collects, organizes, analyses and disseminates information on foundations, corporate giving and related subjects. At their web site, there are links to grantmaker web sites, information on the top U.S. funders, 990-PFs funding trend and analysis, an online library, Philanthropy News Digest and Foundation Finder —a search tool that provides basic facts on more than 48,000 US foundation.
