Board Café

Board Café is the electronic newsletter exclusively for members of nonprofit boards of directors. Board Café offers a menu of ideas, information, opinion, news, and resources to help board members give and get the most out of board service. There are over 70 great issues in the archive!

Starting April 15, 2008, Board Café will be a regular column in the online magazine Blue Avocado, the magazine for people who work and volunteer in the nonprofit sector. New Board Café articles can be read on the Blue Avocado Web site or you can receive it via email by signing up for a free subscription using the form provideed on the Blue Avocado home page .

Contributions

The "how-to" source for nonprofit professionals. Provides a full-text feature article from the latest issue, a table of contents, and selected articles from past issues. Full access requires subscription.

Federal Register

The Federal Register is a legal newspaper published every business day by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). The Register lists proposed rules and regulations of federal agencies, program deadlines, applications procedure and a contact name. It cumulates into the Code of Federal Regulations, which is a codification of the general and permanent rules that elaborate upon and set rules for the interpretation, effectuation, and administration of federal statutes. Information on Federal block grants, for example, is contained in the CFR. The CFR can be searched by keyword and by sections.

Grantsmanship Center Magazine

The Grantsmanship Center Magazine, available for free to nonprofit and government agencies, covers information on how to plan, manage, staff and fund the programs of nonprofit organizations and government agencies.

Internet Prospector

A free email newsletter for fundraisers that directs users to instant sites for prospect research. Offers news and links to web sites to help fundraisers find information about foundations, corporations, and individuals in the United States and internationally. Includes archives of past issues back to 1998.

Mal Warwick & Associates

A free email newsletter on direct mail, telephone and online fundraising.

Planned Giving Today

Planned Giving Today is a monthly newsletter that serves the charitable gift-planning community as a practical resource for education, information, inspiration and professional linkage.

Philanthropy News Digest (PND)

Philanthropy News Digest (PND), a weekly news service of the Foundation Center, is a compendium, in digest form, of philanthropy-related articles and features pulled from print and electronic medial outlets nationwide. The Digest is posted to the Foundation Center's web site every Tuesday afternoon. Archived issues are available dating back to January 1995. The free email version of the Digest (PND-L), minus the RFP Bulletin, is mailed every Tuesday evening in conjunction with the posting of the online version to the Internet.

RFP Bulletin

The RFP (Request for Proposals) Bulletin is published weekly in conjunction with the posting of Philanthropy News Digest to the Web. Each RFP listing provides a brief overview of a current funding opportunity offered by a foundation or other grantmaking organization. Interested applicants should read the full RFP at the grantmaker's web site of contact the grantmaker directly for complete program guidelines and eligibility requirements before submitting a proposal to that grantmaker.
