"This is George. He lived in Africa. He was a good little monkey and always very curious." |

Designed for Parent/Grandparent InvolvementThe Curious George Reading Program contains sections each devoted to different pre-reading age groups, such as babies, toddlers, two and three year olds, and four and five year olds. Each section provides recommended reading lists, activities, and songs that parents can share with their young children. For each book, activity, or song you share, you will reward yourselves with a sticker. When you have used 25 stickers, you can show your booklet at the Farmington Community Library for a small prize. Created as a KeepsakeEveryone loves to keep track of their child's growth and progress during the early years. The Curious Kids booklet is interactive, with spaces for you to choose your own books, draw a picture, list favorite characters, and more. You will watch your child's personality unfold as they develop favorite books and characters. In future years, you will be able to look back at your booklet, recall those close times spent reading together, see the early scribblings of your child, and delight in the lifelong love of books you have developed in your child. Modeled after American Library Association
Curious Kids was developed using base materials provided by the American Library Association, in response to research that cites the importance of reading aloud to young children and exploring language together as a means of making children ready to learn to read upon entering school. The Farmington Community Library believes that the parent is the first and best teacher of their child, and hope that the Curious George Reading Program gives parents the information and materials they need to be involved in their child's pre-reading development.
